The Arts
The Arts facet was established at the 14th National Assembly in 1964. The goal of The Arts Facet is to produce and support programs to enrich the quality of life of our youth and communities through educational and engaging art experiences while Transforming Communities, Fulfilling Our Purpose. The Links support of the arts can be traced to our cultured co-founder Margaret Rosell Hawkins, who was an accomplished artist. The North Shore (IL) Chapter from its inception has supported and sponsored a myriad of opportunities to educate and expose minority youth and the community at large to all forms of art.
The Chapter has enjoyed long-standing relationships with area organizations, service centers and schools who understand that art can heal, uplift and transform communities: Evanston/Skokie School District 65, Evanston Township High School District 202, Family Focus-Evanston, YWCA Evanston/Northshore, Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center, the Harlem Fine Arts Show
